Q: does anyone know where i can get a cylinder head for my 1985 crx?
i'm looking for a 1985 honda crx si head it has a 1.5si motor in it and is a 5 speed we've looked everywhere and so far nothing. i'm not looking to spend a bunch as the car itself is not worth it however it's supposed to get great gas mielage so i'd like to fix it.
if anyone has any for sale or knows anyone let me know.

A: try car-part.com,it goes to over 4,000 salvage yards...you should try to fix it,old crx's are just too cool
Q: in my 1985 honda crx i beleive i have the Engine: 1.5L I-4 3BBL and i want to know if i can adjust the timing?
because i have a idle problem when i get up to tempature my idle starts purging between 700 and 1900 rpms is it my timing or throttle body? but my friend said it may be the timing so i wanna try that first
A: Its not your timing,
IT IS with out a doubt your carburetor.
These 3 bbl carbs are very hard you fix, even Manufactured rebuilt one have troubles.
They do make a aftermarket Carb kit.
or Find a Old Import mechanic that still remembers how and let him fix it.
or figure you got your moneys worth out of it and crash it.
Q: i'm looking to put a backseat in my 1985 honda crx si, does anyone know how to do this?
i seen this on a website and really need to know how. i know it sounds weird but it's our only car and i need a place to put our daughter
A: Like Fusion said, the rear seats in CRX's are very rare. However, when I started to shop around for my first car, I almost bought a CRX, and I did some serious research on this very topic. They were only sold in Japan, not Cali, with the rear seat.
If I had several hundred dollars to put toward the seat alone, I could have gotten the rear seat shipped in, and installed. (And had a VERY baller JDM mod.) Only two of my local speed shops knew where to get the seat. But, even if I had spent the money, the seat would've been only big enough to fit a baby carrier. (As it sounds like you need.) You really can't use it comfortably for anyone older than about 8-9.
I did find one person on the net who had a CRX outfitted with a seat, got photos, and came to the conclusion that it was neither logistically nor logically doable for myself.
If you want to do it, though, contact as many speed shops as you can find in your area, and one or two might not think you're crazy, and they'll try to help you out. :)
It's a great idea, but you might want to consider getting a used Civic, or some other options.
BTW, the rear seat issue was what moved me away from the CRX to a '95 Civic EX coupe, my current (and almost as fun) car. I absolutely loved the CRX, but needed the rear seat for my younger siblings.
If you do it, show it off at some car shows- they'll love it.
I just did about 5 more mins of research (OK- I was interested, too) and found that the reason the rear seat didn't come to the U.S. was because it couldn't pass the crash test. So you should take safety into consideration, too. Most people don't feel that it would be safe to put someone back there.
Q: For those of you who like the honda crx: How is it that the 1985 crx si is anywhere from 125-170 pounds lighte
im just wondering if anyone could tell me how it is that the 85 crx si is anywhere from 125 to 170 pounds lighter than the 86-87 version when the only thing other than cosmetics (monotone paint including spoiler) and 14" versus 13" for the 1986-1987 crx si is the only difference ? I heard it is the same way for the 88 crx si versus the 89-91. im more interested in the 1985 versus 1986-87 crx si question. please help explain this to me as I am stuck.
A: well if you think about it going from 13 to 14 inch rims is a big difference you're already looking at 50 pounds and thanThe chassis was significantly changed in 1986 from its original torsion bar in front and semi-independent rear, to fully independent wishbones all around. that would make 150 pound diffrence on the car because the suspension has more parts meaning more weight
Q: will a rear hub for a 91 crx fit a 91 civic hatchback with drum brakes?
topic. says it fits all of these
Honda Civic 1992-2000 (No ABS with REAR BRAKE DRUMS only)
Honda Civic 1985-1991 (Non 4WD models; Coupe and Sedan only)
Honda CRX 1985-1991
Honda Del Sol 1993-1997 (With REAR BRAKE DRUMS only)
but the car i have is a 91 civic hatchback dx-will this still work?
A: You got it.No problem.
