Q: need aftermarket trailer lite hookup for 2005 honda element?
2005 honda element. looking for the plug-in connection point for aftermarket auxillary lite application. there is nothing in my owners manual detailing point of contact, nor directions with the light kit i ordered by mail. please advise if you have hooked up lights on a honda element. thanks.

A: you just have to tie the kit lights into your honda rear lights wiring by cutting the wires and spliceing into them, get a test light and see what wire controls the turn signal and what wire controls the brake light and tie into them on both sides. There should be 3 wires going to each rear light, one for the brake light one for the turn signal and one for your lights when you turn the headlights on.

Q: How to reset stereo from anti-theft mode on 2005 Honda Element?
My husband changed the air filter on our Element, and when he was done the anti-theft device was blinking on the stereo and it says to enter an access code. I don't have one; does anyone know how to fix it? I miss my stereo!! I DID check my manual, it wasn't there, and I am waiting for the dealership to call me back. No need to be rude people!!

A: You have to contact the original dealer of your vehicle and they should have the code for the car. The same thing happened to me after I changed my battery once. FP

Q: 2005 Honda Element comes in a special limited production "Cargo Khaki" color. How many of those were produced?

A: I can't find the exact number, it wasn't a special edition limited production color. Cargo Khaki and Shoreline Mist Metallic didn't do extremely well, so they got eliminated.

Q: 2005 honda element?
i need revews on the 2005 honda element ex

A: The Element is an offbeat utility vehicle with plenty of interior space. But it seats only four, the low weight-carrying capacity limits its utility, and large roof pillars compromise visibility. Interior noise is pronounced, and the ride is stiff and jittery. Handling is fairly nimble, but in emergency maneuvers, the tail tends to slide out, even with stability control. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE Constant short, quick ride motions make the ride feel jittery, even on the highway. Wind noise drowns out constant road noise at highway speeds. Routine handling is responsive, though the tall body leans notably in turns. The steering has good weight and feedback, and the turning circle is a tight 36 feet. A tendency to slide the tail and lift a wheel in tight turns was disconcerting. The 166-hp, 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine gives adequate acceleration. The five-speed automatic transmission is smooth and responsive; a five-speed manual is standard. Fuel economy is 21 mpg overall on regular fuel. Stopping distances were long, but the brake pedal felt firm and responsive. Low-beam headlights do not reach out far enough, but the high beams reached an excellent distance. INSIDE THE CABIN The interior is utilitarian with a washable rubber mat that covers the whole floor. Interior plastics are hard but fit together well. Many drivers found the driving position to be awkward; the tilt steering wheel was too far forward, was awkwardly canted, and does not telescope. Thick pillars and a distant, low windshield help create poor visibility for the driver. Front seats are firm and supportive, though some drivers wished they had more lumbar support. The hard, flat rear seat fits only two. Leg room is abundant, but it's hard to see out. Access to the front is easy, but you'll have to crawl into the rear seats because they sit behind the rear door. The large sunroof over the rear seats can't be reached from the driver's seat. It's easy to forget to close it. Controls are large and simple, but some drivers found the steering wheel obscured the top of the speedometer. There are a lot of bins and shelves but no covered console storage. The rear seat folds against the sides of the cabin to create a large open cargo floor. The low 675-pound load capacity, including passengers, means the Element can easily be overloaded. The split tailgate is a convenient feature. SAFETY NOTES Seatback-mounted side-impact air bags and curtain head-protection air bags, extending to protect outboard occupants in both rows, are both standard in the Element. The curtain air bags deploy in either side-impact or rollover conditions. Side- and curtain-air bags supplement required front air bags and three-point seatbelts for all occupants. Front seatbelts are anchored from the seatbacks and are not adjustable, which may not suit all occupants. Front belts are equipped with pretensioners to reduce belt slack in a crash. Front air bag deployment is influenced by the driver's seat position, seatbelt usage and passenger weight. Though children are always safest when sitting in the rear seats, if the front passenger's seat weight sensors detect that a child less than approximately 65 pounds is seated there, or if the passenger seat is empty, the air bag for that seat will be disabled. As an added protection for children, an occupant position detection system for the front passenger seat detects if someone is leaning into the path of the side air bag and will disable it as well. The rear seatbelts are anchored behind the rear seats, and require a twist and stretch to reach them. There are adjustable, locking head restraints in all seats. The front versions are tall enough, even when lowered, to reduce rearward head travel and whiplash injury; the rear versions must be raised to adequately protect taller occupants. Driving with kids: Rear-facing seats may be difficult to secure using the seatbelts in the rear seats -- they tend to tilt and the belts are anchored forward of the seatback. LATCH installation should provide a secure fit, and there are easy to access LATCH anchors in both rear seats. Front-facing seats should also prove secure; there are top tether anchors under sliding covers on the cargo area ceiling for both seats. Tether strap anchors for the rear seat are on each seatback. RELIABILITY We expect reliability to be much better than average, according to our latest subscriber survey.

Q: Lift a Honda Element?
I have a 2005 Honda element that I would like to lift up about 3" and everyone keeps telling me its impossible. Well I know anything is possible, especially with a car, so any one know for sure?

A: Sure you can lift an Element, but at a substantial cost of about $1000/inch. We build SCCA Pro Rally cars, and I can personally tell you that it is not worth the effort and money. The only reason to lift an Element is to put larger tires on it, and by doing this you will need more HP, which the Element does not have to turn the larger tires.

Q: Honda Element?
I have a 2005 Honda Element the color of the car is Kiwi Metallic and the plastic is dark gray. how can i make the plastic darker

A: For about $1000 you can replace them with the black panels that were available with some 2005 Element colors. Or for about $10 you can give them a "Forever Black" treatment. Details at: http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20619 Note: Do NOT use Armor All or other tire shine products on the Element's plastic panels. Over time they will degrade the plastic. Use Mothers "Back To Black" instead. B2B won't turn your panels black, but it will give them a rich, even, satin tone.
