Q: How do you program the garage door opener on a 2000 Honda Odyssey?
Any manual of 2000 Honda Odyssey?

A: This came from the user HondaGuy from a forum awhile back so give him the credit.! I did as best I could to reproduce the instructions from the Accord Owners Manual. The system is called "Homelink" in the manual. there are two procedures to program the remote; the first works in 90% of the cases. To start, erase any stored codes-- press and hold the twooutside buttons on the HomeLinktransceiver for about 20 seconds, until the red indicator flashes.Release the buttons, then proceed as followsUnplug the garage door openermotor from the electrical outlet.Hold the end of the garage dooropener remote 2 to 5 inches fromHomeLink. Make sure you are notblocking your view of the redindicator in HomeLink. (the ignition for the car may have to be turned on; it doesn't say if it does or not)Press and hold the remotetransmitter button and one of theHomeLink buttons at the sametime. While continuing to hold theHomeLink button, press andrelease the remote transmitterbutton every 2 seconds. If the red indicator in HomeLinkbegins to flash slowly at first, then rapidly, release bothbuttons, Plug in the garage door openermotor, then test the HomeLinkbutton by pushing it for about 1second.If the button works, programming is complete. If the button does not work, youhave a rolling code transmitter: ‘‘Training with a RollingCode SystemFind the ‘‘training’’ button on yourgarage door opener unit.unit. The location will vary, depending onthe manufacturer.Make sure you have properlycompleted the ‘‘TrainingHomeLink’’ procedure.Press the HomeLink button again. It should operate the garage door. The ‘‘Training HomeLink’’procedure trains HomeLink to theproper garage door opener code. The following proceduresynchronizes HomeLink to thegarage door opener so it sends andreceives the correct codes.Press the training button on thegarage door opener unit until theindicator next to the button comeson. You thenhave approximately 30 seconds tocomplete the following steps.Press and hold the button onHomeLink for 3 to 4 seconds.Press and hold the HomeLinkbutton again for 3 to 4 seconds. This should turn off the trainingindicator on the garage dooropener unit. (Some systems mayrequire you to press the button upto three times.)

Q: Hi, I have an 2000 Honda Odyssey and i cant take out my CDs from my CD Changer. How can i take it out?
2000 Honda Odyssey Prestige V6, it has Japanese GPS System, The CD Changer is underneath the driver's seat (some odyssey's changer is at the trunk or dash board)

A: Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. This will reset the changer. If this doesn't work, and your fuses are good, then the changer is bad.

Q: Maintenance instructions to replace 2000 Honda Odyssey cabin air conditioning filter?
Can anyone provide instructions or lead me to an internet site that describes how to replace a 2000 Honda Odyssey cabin air conditioning filter? I can't thank all of you enough for your help. As you can see from the answer that I selected as the best, there are a few intricacies that would escape an amateur like me. The pictures were great!!!!

A: Most cars take in fresh air through vents or openings that are usually located under the hood at the rear of the compartment near where the windshield wipers are. It's the place where every leaf in the county gets stuck in the fall...can't miss it. There should be a cover over the filter that unscrews or snaps out to gain access the filter element. This information should be in your vehicle operators manual also. If you don't have the manual, go to the parts store and tell them what you need and they might be able to pull up a diagram. If all else fails, head to the Honda dealer service department, ask them to pull up the diagram and have them print it off for you. Good luck

I want to install a plug one seat ( at 2nd row seat ) for the Honda Odyssey EX, year 2000. Does this seat available for this model and where to find it? Thanks!

A: I dont believe they have that particular year.

Q: 2000 Honda odyssey - one headlight works in high beam only?
I am not sure what to look for. Are there separate bulbs for high and low beam so may be the low beam one has burnt fuse... How to check for that. Thanks in advance.

A: You just need a new bulb. The bulb has 2 filaments, the low beam filament has burned out, leaving only the high to work. Go the auto parts store a get a new bulb, just that easy. Not a fuse, if the fuses were blown then the lights would not work at all. If the other side is currently working, then it's the bulb.

Q: How do I reset the "check engine" light on my 2000 Honda Odyssey?
I'm tired of paying my local dealer a $100 a pop to find out mom left the gas cap unscrewed. Is there a way to do this other than disconnecting the battery?

A: Auto Zone will reset it for free. Dsiconnecting the battery will not work on an OBD2 car, Post 1996.

Q: what type of transmission fluid does a 2000 honda odyssey take?

A: You didn't say whether it was manual or stick shift? Either way the preferred fluid is Honda's own ATF or MTF. You can get Honda or Acura ATF at Carquest Auto Parts stores.

Q: I have a 2000 honda odyssey with no problems and wanted to know if the new ones were just as good.?

A: More horsepower and theoretically better mpg with the cylinder shutdown. I would assume there have been big steps forward in the comfort side. However, new vehicles are a TERRIBLE investment - guaranteed 30-50% loss in the first 2-3 years depending on the model though Hondas hold their value better than anything out there. Keep driving your '00 if it is running good. I have three hondas: 235k, 230k and 278k miles.

Q: Loose drive-side mirror - 2000 Honda Odyssey EX?
2000 Honda Odyssey EX. My driver-side mirror got pushed back (towards the front of the car, instead of back) while I was backing the car out of the garage. Now the mirror housing is moving. How do I tighten it back? Thanks

A: try to tighten the mount bolts-first, remove the inside trim behind mirror on the door-if you look, you will see 3 nuts that are either 8 or 10 mm wrench size.tighten them snugly, but do not overtighten them. this sould do it,unless the mirror is damaged-then you need to replace it

Q: Have HONDA ODYSSEY 2000 and my steering wheel is vibrating what could have gone wrong?

A: Two common reasons: 1) Your wheels/tires are unbalanced; this can happen easily if you have small weights affixed to the rim for balance and they break/fall off. 2) Your front end is out of alignment, or has loose parts (links, etc). You'll probably notice the vibration gets better or worse at certain speeds as well, and I think that is more indicative of case 1. Bring the vehicle to any general shop, or (better) to a mechanic you can trust (they're hard to find, but ask your friends -- when you find one, hang on for dear life! Honesty is so rare these days).
