Q: How to program keyless entry for 2005 Honda Odyssey?
I got the remote from the dealer but dont know hot to program it. I cant get to the dealer yet because its not registered.
A: turn the key on, press lock button on the remote, turn key off. turn key on, press the lock button. turn key off. do this 5 times, then the door locks will cycle. press lock button on all remotes within 10 seconds. turn key off. you are done.if the locks don't cycle then you are not in program mode. if you don't have all the remotes that you want to work then only the one that you program will work.
Q: How do I remove the wheel locks on a 2005 Honda Odyssey?
In order to get my tires serviced I need to find the location of those 4 wheel locks.
A: You can go to the Honda dealer with your title and VIN number and get a duplicate key if they are factory locks.
If they're aftermarket locks and you don't know the manufacturer, ask the tire shop to use their special socket to remove the keyed lug nut. It will be ruined after that, but you're already in a bad spot driving around without the key lock. If you get a flat tire, you are totally screwed.

Q: What does the knock sensor wire harness do in the 2005 Honda Odyssey? What's it for?
Dealership claims rats chewed through the knock sensor wire harness, and I'm just curious what this part is actually doing?
A: The sensor wires transmit the signal back to the engines computer, and if an engine knock (caused by a too lean condition) is detected, it will tell the fuel system to enrich it self, by added more fuel. and this saves the engine from damage.
Q: How do I reset the blinking milage light on my 2005 Honda Odyssey after getting an oil change?
A: I copied the text below out of the link I have posted in the sources section. Hope this helps.
Turn off the engine.
Press and hold the select/reset button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON (Position II).
Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets.
That's all there is to it.
Q: How can I change the Michelin Pax Tire system for another on a 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring?
A: well yes and no ,,,
the van has struts and springs tuned for those heavy wheels and tires , (around 100 lbs each) so it will handle differently.
then you have no jack or spare tire !
so you need :
a jack , tools and spare tire and wheel and the mounting kit
(you loose the cargo area in the rear )
four wheels , tires , and tire pressure monitors and 20 lug nuts . so the cost is about the same as the $1400.00 for new pax tires ,
Q: Does 18 miles per gallon sound decent for a 2005 Honda Odyssey minivan?
A: If you go to
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymanu.htm
Select Model Year 2005
Select Make Honda
you will find for a
"Honda Odyssey 6 cyl, 3.5 L, Automatic 5-spd, Regular"
17 city, 26 highway
and for a
"Honda Odyssey 6 cyl, 3.5 L, Automatic 5-spd, VTEC, Regular"
17 city, 23 highway.
If you go one step futher and click on "Honda Odyssey" for each you will find for the non-VTEC entry
(1) the combined estimate by the EPA is 20 mpg
(2) the 23 users who reported their milage ranged from 13 to 26 MPG with and average of 19.1 MPG
and for the VTEC entry
(1) the combined estimate by the EPA is 19 mpg
(2) the 13 users who reported their milage ranged from 14 to 24 MPG with and average of 19.3 MPG.
It appears 18 mpg is just a touch below average.
Q: How do you remove the second row seat from the Honda Odyssey 2005 EX-L Edition?
A friend is planning a long move to another state and would like to maximize his vehicle capacity so as to move as much as he can himself. How do you remove the second row seat in order to do that?
A: Maddening, isn't it? First, you have to release the rear latches of the seat that secure it to the floor. In order to do that you have to activate the latch release lever. You will find this small lever on the front of the seat base (door side). It is black with white icon (kind of hidden). Once the lever is pulled the rear latches will release and the back of the seat can be lifted up. Then move the whole seat back until the front latches slide out from under their anchors. The seat should now be free of the vehicle.

Q: My mechanic says the power steering pump on my Honda Odyssey 2005 has a leak. How can i be sure he's right ?
Will cost me a lot to have it replaced so i need a second opinion. Any complications if i wait it out for a month or two ?
A: have the mechanic fill the power steering pump reservoir up and show you how to check the fluid level and add more if you need it, remember the Honda probably has a specific power steering fluid, you probably can find a generic brand fluid at Walmart but be sure the instructions say it can be used in a Honda, otherwise buy a quart from your mechanic (More expensive), then check the fluid level once a week and add as needed, the reservoir has its own little dipstick, you can do this forever, also there are power steering "stop leaks" available, seldom is changing a pw pump ever necessary unless it fails or the leak is gigantic
Q: How can I repaint scratches for my 2005 Honda Odyssey (Slate Green Metallic)?
Is there an easy way to do this? The body shops are asking for $500, which I thought a little expensive.
The problem is I am having trouble finding a paint that matches my car, which is Slate Green Matallic.
A: Why would you wnat to repaint scratches on your car......you want to cover scratches and to do that you go get the touchup paint for you color then using a cloth clean out the scratch. using a toothpick place a very small amount of T/U paint on the scratch then lightly fill in the scratch. after it dries get polising compound and rub like a mad man. until it is smooth. reapply wax and Viola'
(WALA) it is done....Be patiient and go in small steps for best results.
OR UH OH better get MAACO
Q: "Why does my 2005 Honda Odyssey decelerate instead of coast when leaving off the accelerator?"?
A: Today automatic transmission vehicle don't coast anymore. Transmission downshift automatically to stay close to speed vehicle is traveling. It is more efficient to have right transmission gear matching speed of vehicle traveling.
for example, if you rode you bicycle up a big hill then without touching gear shifter and rode down a hill or vice verse...bicycle and you will be not so efficient.
Q: How do I program 2 of the same number (#2) keyless entry remotes for my 2005 Odyssey Touring?
I have two #2 remotes for my 2005 Honda Odyssey touring. Can I program them as Driver 1 and Driver 2 remotes, or will they both be Driver 2s?
A: from what I can see they can't be indivudually programmed as a 1 & 2 as programming them will link them together and make them both "2"'s.
did you follow the instructions in your owner's manual to set the driver 1 and driver 2 preferences? You can try to program the remotes following the instructions in the owner's manual and see but my gut feeling is that you won't be able to turn a 2 into a 1 because I believe the transmitters operate on different radio frequencies and when the tranceiver picks up a driver 1 frequency it "knows" to set the seat and other preferences to driver 1 and when it receives a signal on the driver 2 frequency it knows to use those preference.
I really don't think its possible to turn a 2 into a 1
hope that helps
