Q: How much would the value of a 2003 Honda Pilot drop after it rolls over 100,000 miles?
It has about 83,000 on it now.
A: go to www.kbb.com and figure out what an 02 Pilot with the same features as your 03 Pilot would be with 100k miles on it. That would give you a good idea of what it will be worth next year when your 03 hits 100k.
Q: How do I replace a 2003 Honda Pilot driver's side door lock actuator? Thanks?
Driver's side door lock does not respond to the remote nor power door switch?
A: First thing would be to check that there is power actually getting to the switch and then that there is power getting to the actuator...it is built into the latch so the only way to replace it is to change the door latch!!!!
Q: Would you recommend a 2003 Honda Pilot or a 2004 Dodge Durango?
I am thinking about buying one of these vehicles, but don't know which on is more reliable.
A: Honda,if you buy a Dodge you better get a new spare transmission.
Q: How to replace air filter in the cabin of a Honda pilot 2003?
A: No, it's not that simple. The problem with the 2003 model (first year) is that the cabin air filter (sitting vertically) is blocked by a horizontal piece of dash trim and a metal plate. Seems that the engineers forgot to design a good way to remove the cabin filter after the dash is installed.
You need to first remove the glove compartment by dropping it down out of the way. There are clips on either side of the glove box that are holding the box in place. Once the glove box is removed or dropped down, you need to physically cut the piece of dash trim that is covering the cabin filter access door. Cut the trim off on either side....it's about an inch wide by 16 inches long or so. This will not affect anything and will not be visible when the glove box is reinstalled since this trim sits behind the box. There is also a metal plate behind the plastic trim that is removed by screws on either side.
Once the trim and metal plate is removed, you can pry open the filter door and pull the old filter out. Replace with new filter, reinstall metal plate and glove box.
Q: 2003 Honda Pilot or 2006 Ford Explorer?
I am about to buy one of the above mentioned vehicles. The prices are the same and the mileage is 143,000 km on the Honda and 93,000 km on the Explorer. My major concerns are operating and repair costs and overall reliability. Other than that I find the two fairly equal. Which would you buy and why.
A: Honda Pilot, engine life with good maintenance will easily exceed 250,000 miles. They are great on gas and a great powerhouse 4cyl engine. I own a 04' Honda accord and it has been by far the best purchase i have made since i was buying cars 20 yrs ago. I had a friend and currently who have a cousin who has an explorer and its killing him on gas and it has the smaller v6. Good luck ~
Q: i own a 2003 honda pilot, and recently it has developed a oil leak. has this been a problem?
this oil leak just appeared within the last 4 to 6 weeksand has gotten worse.it is hard to determine where it is leaking from.
A: Should have bought an American car bud. Your door handle may fall off and the radio may die, but it will run and run and keep on going for pretty much forever.
Q: We have a 2003 Honda Pilot. Does anyone know why there is no air coming out of the rear air conditioning vent?
A: it's a separate unit. Did you turn it on? Did you check the fuse? Does the front one work?
Q: Does anybody know where to buy door lock actuators for 2003 Honda Pilot EX and 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T?
I have checked many sites. None of them carried them. I wonder if the universal door lock actuator fits.
A: 1.) Call a Honda Dealership
2.) Ask for the parts department.
3.)The salesman can tell you what you need to know.
Q: I have a 2003 honda pilot... and when i apply the brakes on my car, the a/c makes a squealing noise? help!!?
it doesn't do it when the a/c is off and i'm not sure if its the drive belt or not... can someone help me.....
A: if the condition only happens when the air conditoning is on then check the condition of the drive belt. you can use a belt dressing and spray it on the belt to see if the noise goes away. if it goes away when you put the silicone belt dressing on then the belt should be replaced.
if the noise happens with the air conditioning off then look at the motor mounts as a possible cause. a broken motor mount could cause the belts to stretch and make the noise.
you sound like you have a reason to believe its air conditioning related and not a noise from the brakes. if you haven't had the brakes checked then thats really the first thing to do.
hope that helps
EDIT
Does it do it if the car is not moving? can you get the noise to happen when the car is in park and you run the engine at 3000 rpm then let off the gas? Or does the vehicle have to be moving for the noise to happen? Does it happen every time or just once in a while?
it sounds like your compressor clutch may be slipping (least likely) or the belt is slipping (most likely). the vehicle will go into a "fuel cut" when you are decelerating and I'm thinking that the air conditioning compressor is disengaging then re-engaging and that's why you're hearing the noise as the engine is under no-load on braking and the engagement of the compressor represents a greater load than normal when the engine is at speed.
did you try to dampen the belt noise using a belt dressing or silicone spray? If you don't have a can of belt dressing, can you can spray the belt with a water mist (don't soak the belt, just spray it lightly with water) and see if the noise goes away.
Q: Why would the "D" indicator flash on my dashboard? I drive a 2003 Honda Pilot.?
I light turned off when I turned the car off and has not gone off again.
A: do you have traction control, was it on or off, some times when you loose traction a light will flash im not sure if that was it reed your owners manual and look for the d
Q: 2003 honda pilot?
is a honda pilot a good first car i live in colorado so i need all wheel drive. any thhoughts or other suggestions
A: Honda borrowed the basic design of the popular MDX from its upscale Acura division, and transformed it into a new midsize SUV. The 2003 Pilot shared its basic chassis and powertrain with the more costly Acura MDX, and used the same V6 engine, five-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel-drive system.

Q: 2003 Honda Pilot doesnt want to go into gear from park...why?
it occasionaly does this. I have taken to a mechanic...and as soon as I do....it works fine........get home and it will do it again. Its done it to me...as well as other people driving my car! sometimes I have to stomp as hard as I can on the break for it to work.....why does it do this? and why does it only do it once in a while?
A: Check for a brake switch out of adjustment or not working
Sounds like the safety switch that keeps you from shifting from park is causing the problem.
Listen and feel the shifter when you first press the brake pedal. You should feel and maybe hear a slight "click" in the shifter knob. That way you know the safety switch is releasing and now you are able to change gears. It will only do this while in park
Good luck
